The “Black” British History exhibition highlights and celebrates the history of people of colour to Britain since 2AD. A timeline through history focusing on the contributions made by the People of the Global Majority to Britain. The hidden histories of Africans and Asians in British society, including African Roman Emperor Septimius Severus, the freed slave that taught Charles Darwin Taxidermy and the African Auxiliary Unit stationed on Hadrian’s Wall.

An opportunity to speak and share with women that care. This session is providing the opportunity for women of diverse backgrounds the opportunity to share with the Chief Superintendent of Bedfordshire Police, Dee Perkins, issues and concerns related to all forms of police engagement with women of colour or women from migrant backgrounds.

Bike-stop for social inclusion: “from guest to host” aims to be a social innovation project in favour of the inclusion of those already in a position of high risk of marginalization.
The project is presented by a partnership of organizations from Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Serbia, Germany and the United Kingdom. The main aim of the project is to develop a shared innovative model of social inclusion, in contexts where it becomes increasingly difficult to identify employment opportunities.

Is This My Country?

Following the soft launch of “I Am Home” at Wardown House, Museum and Gallery; “Is This My Country?” Explores the idea of “Home”. Featuring a short presentation, “Luton: Migration and Me”, and a panel discussion surrounding the myriad of reasons for migration.
Luton, Migration and Me, is a narrative journey through Luton via the stories of local residents. Led by Naz Knight, a storyteller and narrative psychology practitioner. Five people from Luton share their stories of why Luton became their home. Our lives and our cultures are composed of many overlapping stories. Migration is not one single story; these are the multi-stories of these five lives.
